This Digital Expedition was a unique journey and a unique experience for us, 2nd year students at EBS Paris. For 1 month, we discovered the global heart of technological innovation and business creation: Silicon Valley. We have been integrated into this very special bubble that influences the whole world, where everything goes so fast and where everything is possible!


This Digital Expedition is a training based on digital and entrepreneurship. Two academic objectives were given to us:

  • Set up the business model of a startup
  • Code our personal website in HTML and CSS

In a team of 3 or 4 students, we had to develop the business model of a digital startup: from a simple idea to creating a viable, reliable and desirable mini company, including the analysis of our target.

We were helped by Ryan MacCa , who taught us the Lean Startup method, which consists of evaluating all the risks that a project must face before its launch. Thus, thanks to various tools and exercises (CANVAS, team buildings, business games, etc.), at the end of these 4 weeks, we presented our digital startup in front of all the students, teachers and administration of the INSEEC U Campus. .

We also received courses in Digital Marketing and Integrated English to train us inelevator pitch and thus discover digital marketing strategies (SEM, SEO, etc.); and courses of coding , rarely studied so intensely in management school, which allowed us to understand the basics of HTML, CSS & JavaScript to create our website.


Beyond the academic objectives, this Digital Expedition was intended to open our minds, introduce us to the international market and confront us with other learning methods: music lessons, interactive boards, open space… We we did not write on paper but on the walls, in order to stimulate our creativity.

We had the chance to go to Apple, Google headquarters and spend a few hours at Stanford University and today we are cultivating the Silicon Valley’s mindset ! And of course, we all posed in front of the must-see Golden Gate and in the famous districts of High Street, Fisherman, Ocean Drive, etc.

We also had the opportunity to meet the Alumni living in San Francisco as well as the management of INSEEC U. who explained the mindset of entrepreneurs and introduced us to the world of startups, here in California:

Antoine , co-founder of Merci Andy told us: “ Monday, you have a crazy business idea, Wednesday you find a partner, Friday you sink, it happens every week! But the next Monday you create something else and you never stop trying “.


This Digital Expedition was a training rich in discoveries, creativity and entrepreneurship! Today, it allows us to enhance our CV for our 3 rd year international internship search. We have developed new skills, particularly in terms of soft skills and lived a unique international, entrepreneurial and digital experience.
